The Portfolio Yearbook features the winning and shortlisted entries from the Scottish Nature Photography Awards 2022. I had three shortlisted this time and I include them here. This is an annual Award showcasing the best entries in various categories covering nature, wildlife and landscape photography and offers an insight into the creation of the winning images and into the photographers and filmmakers themselves.
How pleased I was to be notified that I have won the "One Thing This Month" with a bluebell photo I submitted for the theme "Spring Landscapes"! Dead chuffed with this and I also win the prize of a Lowepro Fastback BP 250 AW III backpack!
Managed to get to Bristol yesterday to catch the Royal Photographic Society Landscape Group's travelling outdoor exhibition which is currently being displayed at the Clifton Suspension Bridge and is due to finish on 26th June. It opened in Edinburgh last year, then moved to York for four weeks and prior to Bristol it was outside the entrance to Southwark Cathedral in London. Am pleased to say that one of my images is included "Sunset from Port Appin". There are 61 images on 22 panels, a run of almost 24 metres. All images can be viewed on the RPS website: https://rps.org/Landscape-EXPO22/
Pleased to get my image (bottom right) published in "Outdoor Photography" magazine in the latest edition. It was taken a few years ago now during a January holiday to Wester Ross, northern Scotland. The Bealach na Ba (cattle pass) on the Applecross peninsula is one of the most dramatic (and dangerous) roads on the UK mainland with hairpins and steep climbs up to 2053 ft but with fantastic views (on a clear day) across to the Isle of Skye and Raasay.
Following on from displays in Edinburgh and York in 2022, the travelling exhibition of the RPS Landscape Group has now moved to London where it is available to view outside Southwark Cathedral. It finishes on Tuesday 31st January, so you better get your skates on if you want to see it! Otherwise all images can be viewed online by going to: https://rps.org/Landscape-EXPO22/
